The processing time for an Iceland Schengen visa is usually around 15 working days from the date of your visa appointment. However, processing may take longer during peak travel seasons or if additional documents are required.
If Your Iceland Visa Is Approved
Once your Iceland Schengen visa is approved, collect your passport and carefully check that all the details on the visa sticker are accurate and complete, including your name, travel dates, and visa validity.
If Your Iceland Visa Application Is Refused
If your Iceland visa application is rejected, you have the right to submit an appeal within 15 days from the date you receive the refusal decision.
To start the appeal process:
- Collect the official visa refusal letter, which explains the reasons for the rejection.
- Follow the instructions provided in the letter for submitting an appeal.
- Appeals are reviewed by the Icelandic Directorate of Immigration in Reykjavík. If the application was submitted through another country’s consulate representing Iceland, the appeal will be reviewed by that country’s relevant authorities.
Please note that appeal applications usually require a separate fee, and this fee is generally non-refundable, regardless of whether the appeal is successful or not.
Applicants may also authorize a representative to submit the appeal on their behalf with written permission.
Applying with complete documentation and accurate information can help improve the chances of a successful Iceland Schengen visa approval.
